The world is crazy – but you can still feel amazing.
Let’s be real: these last few years have been wild. Loneliness, stress, AI taking over jobs, and let’s not even talk about the news. It’s easy to feel lost or just plain tired.
But here’s the thing: if you want your life to change, you have to start with yourself. You can’t wait for the world to get better. You have to take a leap of faith—on yourself.
I know, it sounds simple. But that’s the truth. Change doesn’t come from “someday” or “when things calm down.” It comes from you, today.
The “How Old Are You, Really?” Question
A few years ago—and especially since I turned 45—people started looking at me funny. “You’re 45? No way!”
At first, I thought they were just being nice. But it is keep happening. And it wasn’t just about looks. People say things like, “You have so much energy,” or “You’re always so positive,” or “What do you eat? Are you on some secret drug?”
I’m not on any drugs (Unless you count coffee, but that’s a story for another day).
What’s my secret? I take care of myself. Not just my body, but my mind and heart too. And I’ve been doing it for 15 years. I eat real food, I move every day, I sleep well, and I try to keep learning and growing.
I’m not perfect. I have bad days. But I show up for myself, every day, with kindness and a little bit of humor.

Why Habits Matter More Than Ever
In tough times, it’s easy to let things slide. But that’s exactly when good habits matter most. Habits are your safety net. They’re what keep you going when everything else feels out of control.
If you’re serious about feeling better—more energy, better health, more happiness—you have to start with your habits.
Don’t wait for a doctor to tell you to change. Don’t wait for someone else to fix your life. Be your own boss. Take care of yourself the way you take care of your job, your family, or your friends.
How I Built Habits That Last
Here’s how I do it—simple, honest, and totally doable:
1. Start Your Day Right
– Hydrate: first thing, I drink a big glass of water (sometimes two).
– Move a little: I stretch or do some easy yoga (you can go for a walk around the building)
– Mindful moment: I take a few deep breaths or just enjoy my coffee.
2. Eat Real Food
– No fancy diets: I eat real food—lots of veggies, fruits, protein coming mainly from legumes (chickpeas, lentils, beans, etc.), and fish.
– Listen to my body: I eat when I’m hungry, not because I’m bored or stressed.
– Vitamins: I take a few vitamins, but nothing crazy. Just what my body needs. Here is my updated list
3. Move Every Day
– No excuses: I move my body every day. Walking, running, biking, swimming, yoga—whatever feels good.
– Active life: I don’t own a car, so I bike or walk everywhere (My legs are my secret weapon).
– Consistency: I’ve been doing this for years. 15 to be exact! It’s just part of my life now and I love it! 🙂
4. Rest and Recover
– Sleep is queen: I make sure I get enough sleep. If I’m tired, I rest. I don’t eat chocolate, or drink an energiser or worse eat more food. I simply go to bed and sleep.
– Listen to my body: If I’m sore, I take it easy. No shame in a rest day.
5. Nurture My Mind and Heart
– Journaling: I write down something good every day. It helps me stay grateful. I do it before going to bed.
– Always learning: I read, listen to podcasts, and try new things. I stay curious.
– Be present: I enjoy the moment, even the boring ones.
– Celebrate others: I’m happy for my friends when they succeed.
– No comparisons: I don’t compare myself to others. I’m on my own journey.
6. Connect and Celebrate
– Friends and family matter: I cherish my friendships – old and new. Quality time with friends is one of my greatest joy.
– Enjoy life: I go to concerts, festivals, and shows. I eat good food, laugh a lot, and and have fun. And whenever time and budget allow, I love to travel and explore new places.
7. Mindful Indulgences
– Rarely drink: I don’t need alcohol to have a good time. So proud of this discovery, it’s been 6 months now!
– Treat myself: I enjoy a dessert or a night out, no guilt.
How to Make Habits Stick
Here’s a little challenge for you: For the next two weeks, write down everything you do. What you eat, when you sleep, how you move, how you feel. Be honest with yourself.
After two weeks, look at your list. Pick one habit you want to change. Start small. Be patient. It might take a month, or six months. That’s okay. This is a journey, not a race.
There’s no magic pill. The secret is showing up for yourself, every day, with kindness and patience. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being consistent. And over time, you’ll look back and realize: you’re not the same person you used to be.
You’re stronger, healthier, and happier.
Change Starts With You
In a crazy world, the one thing you can control is yourself. Change starts with you. Not because you have to, but because you deserve to feel amazing—every day. Let’s build healthy habits together.
Let’s take that leap of faith—on ourselves.
Stay (or get) healthy & be happy,
Cris
